The Butler County Health Department conducts screening and treatment for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, otherwise referred to as Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s). HIV  and Hepatitis C testing and counseling is also available. All testing is confidential and free of charge.

Rapid HIV Testing

The Butler County Health Department contracts with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Sevices (DHSS) to provide Rapid HIV Testing services for the citizens of Missouri. In an effort to provide effective services to any and all clients, the HIV Testing Program has established the following program goals:

  • To increase the early detection of HIV infection for those infected.
  • To prevent HIV infection for those at risk.
  • To decrease the transmission of HIV from those infected.

All newly diagnosed HIV positive individuals are referred to services that help ensure the availability of medical care and other support services.
